Training hubs

Primary and community care is at the forefront of the NHS transformation. We look at how we can train and develop the current and future workforce to meet the challenging health needs of the population. Training hubs are a key part of this work.

Building the network

Training hubs will provide an opportunity to meet the educational needs of the multi-disciplinary primary care team, bringing together NHS organisations, community, local authorities and education establishments. This will provide a much broader education platform than the traditional single professional approach. The hubs or networks will support workforce planning, additional learner placements and look to improve quality and governance in primary care.

The way forward

As we identify solutions to common barriers and build on an agreed funding framework, Health Education England’s local offices are best placed to implement training hub initiatives that allow some variation in approach through a common operating model across England.

How do I contact my local training hub?
