HEE elbows its way into new round of GP specialty training recruitment

31 October 2017

Award winning rock band Elbow have given permission for their smash hit single ‘One Day Like This’ to be used as the soundtrack for the latest video that forms part of Health Education England’s (HEE) ‘One career endless opportunities’ GP specialty recruitment campaign.

The film includes GPs and trainees talking about their own experience of this career choice and why they chose general practice as the next specialty training application round opens on Wednesday 8 November.

The video and more short clips are aimed at foundation doctors who are considering which medical specialty training to apply for.

Professor Simon Gregory, Director and Dean of Education and Quality, Midlands and East, Health Education England said:

This campaign puts the spotlight on the endless opportunities GP specialty trainees have to create a rewarding, sustainable, flexible career. It is a chance to use all aspects of their medical training and also if they wish pursue particular interests to tailor make their own career in general practice.

Now more than ever, trainees will find themselves working as part of a multi professional team within a range of primary care settings as a valued GP.
