Shadow Board Pilot Scheme
Does your Board struggle to appoint to certain posts, is your organisation developing new capabilities requiring a different kind of director talent?
Are you an individual aspiring to a Board post in the next two to three years, but worry ‘they won't want me’?
Is your organisation seeking fresh thinking and new ways of working, but finding it a challenge to make time with ‘business as usual’?
About the Scheme
Innov8 has partnered with the Inspiring Leaders Network and Finegreen to provide an exclusive Shadow Board opportunity. This pilot has been funded by Innov8 to develop an offer that aims to:
- Grow our own talent saving millions for the NHS,
- Embrace different thinking at a strategic level to improve organisational performance on your most pressing priorities,
- Diversify the emerging talent pool for the future NHS
Case study video
Our short case study video features interviews with participants in the Shadow Board Pilot Scheme at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
They talk us through using the scheme to identify leadership talent within the organisation, and how they nurture staff who aspire to be part of an Executive team.
Network Event: 26 January 2017
On 26 January 2017, we hosted our first Shadow Board Networking Event.
It was an opportunity to bring all Shadow Board participants together across the region, celebrate success and identify potential opportunities going forward.
Participants shared next steps, discussed future opportunities and how we could build on the success of the programme and the richness it adds to the region.
It was an informal and highly conversational event, with a key speaker discussing the future of the Shadow Board programme.
Keynote speaker: Rebecca Malin
Rebecca is Associate Director of Transformation Programmes across the Bradford District and Craven health economy.
She had previously held a number of strategic, business development and digital IT positions at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust where she led the development of the Trust’s innovative digital health offering.
Prior to joining the NHS in 2008, Rebecca led the passenger IT team at Virgin Atlantic Airways and held various project and analysis roles in IBM UK Ltd. Recently Rebecca has established a mechanism for driving transformation across the health and care system and has led the development of the local Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP). She is now coordinating a programme of collaboration across Acute Trusts.
