Mentor Training Programme
We have developed Yorkshire and Humber minimum mentor standards by providing a full programme of work leading to a certificate in mentoring. The programme comprises: pre-course work, attendance at a study day with supporting workbook, learning style assessments, post-study day work, a mentor handbook, optional assessment methods (observed assessment, peer review examples), a final summary of achievements sign off (by an educational supervisor) for internal verification and a completion certificate (valid for 2 years).
Mentor Training for Practice Supervisors
The Mentor has a range of duties and responsibilities focusing primarily on support and facilitation of training programmes within the workplace.
Our programme is designed to support a range of work based learning programmes and is mapped to national occupational standards; comprising a single study day with pre and post course work.
Application: This programme is open to all staff in Yorkshire and the Humber who meet the entry criteria. It is intended to support those groups of staff who currently have no formal mentoring training available to them. Application is by nomination from your manager. All trainee mentors should be approved, nominated and supported by their managers and employer to complete the full programme of training. Please note: this training programme is not intended to replace any mentoring professional competencies already in place and provided by regulatory bodies.
