"Fred's Story"Highlighting unsafe mobility for people with dementia who may leave their place of care

“What Helps Improve Information Given to Families of People Living with Dementia” has been designed for staff working in health and social care and in the voluntary sector to assist them to provide information to families and partners of people living with dementia.

Health Education England Thames Valley Office commissioned a Dementia Project Fellow to improve the information given to families of people living with dementia in the Thames Valley area.

Phase 1 of the project resulted in a scoping report summarising best practice and information that was already available to families.
The report concluded that there were benefits to all staff being confident to proactively provide information.

The What Helps Improve Information Given to Families of People Living with Dementia project was built around the experiences and views of family carers and supports the Health Education e-book and app.

See the comprehensive guide here -  Dementia guide for carers and care providers.
It maps to Subject 9, Supporting Families and Carers as Partners in Dementia Care in the Tier 2 Dementia Core Skills Education and Training Framework.
