We recognize that emergency care is a very important part of the service which we deliver. We recently set up a taskforce to look out at how we provide emergency care and educational solutions for recruitment, retention and progression into new roles.
We understand that the development of non-medical workforce is a priority. We have active focus on Critical Care Paramedics, development of the nursing role, Physicians Associates and pharmacy support of urgent care in ED with a remit to review medication and in the community/primary care to help reduce admissions.
We have an active 5 year workforce strategy for paramedic focusing on supporting recruitment, retention and growth. We realise the changing role of the paramedic pre-hospital urgent care and how important a role they play in the prevention of hospital admissions.
