HEE quality framework
Through the 2015/16 Mandate, HEE committed to developing a single HEE Quality Framework and overarching quality strategy for education and training, and these documents are now published and can be found here . There is also a one page 'Quality Standards' document to provide a succinct overview.
The framework sets out the expectations for a consistent, multiprofessional approach to improving quality within the work-based learning environment, and HEE will work locally across the North West with partner placement and education providers to drive quality improvement and ensure that innovation and best practice is celebrated and shared across the country. The standards are also clear that patients are partners in developing and supporting education and training, setting out that providers proactively engage with patients, service users, carers, citizens and learners to shape curricula, assessments and course content to support an ethos of patient partnership within the learning environment.
During 2016-17, HEE NW will work with placement and education provider partners to test the framework, standards and the National Education and Training survey in order to refine and build the evidence base that underpins it. Implementation plans are in development, and these will be shared with colleagues in the near future.
