We are Health Education England. Working across the North West, we are responsible for the education, training and workforce planning for all NHS staff.
HEE is here to improve the quality of healthcare for the people and patients of England through education, training and lifelong development of staff. Working across the North West, we aim to provide high quality education and training to all health professionals including the next generation of doctors, dentists and nurses across the area. To do this effectively and to ensure the best possible outcomes and experience for patients and people, we work closely with local healthcare providers and key stakeholders so that our work is driven by patient needs.
We are custodians of the NHS Constitution and promote the NHS values. Our vision is to provide the right workforce, with the right skills and values, in the right place at the right time to better meet the needs and wants of patients – now and in the future.
Our geography spans across the North West of England, and includes Cumbria and Lancashire, Cheshire and Merseyside, and Greater Manchester. We have a population of over 7 million and we have the largest workforce in England, with over 157,155.25 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) staff.
