Strategic advisory council

We have drawn strategic advisory council membership from employers, clinical professions and other staff groups, service commissioners, local authorities and public health, higher education providers, trainees, and independent providers. Members have been selected for their credibility within their constituencies.

Health Education England has established a Strategic Advisory Council (SAC) in north west London to:

  • Inform and drive strategy and support the development of our annual education commissioning plans
  • Inform and support the development of our Five-Year Skills and Workforce Development Strategy and its updates
  • Inform the annual plan and annual review
  • Support and participate in the formation of other engagement machinery such as professional forums, task and finish and other advisory groups, drawing on its members, their wider networks and other stakeholders as appropriate

We have drawn the SAC membership from employers, clinical professions and other staff groups, service commissioners, local authorities and public health, higher education providers, trainees, and independent providers. Members have been selected for their credibility within their constituencies.

The SAC meets at key times in the business cycle, normally four times a year, and is chaired by Marcia Saunders, who is also chair of HEE's local board in north west London.
